Thanks for the advice. Meanwhile, I'm typing this from my new Vista install. Actuall running swell, but I can't get my Linksys Wireless G USB adapter to work. No big deal since the machine is 4 feet from the router. Really no need to dual boot with my old XP install, as all of my data files are intact.

Mindlessly silly, you dont need any floppys at all with either of those. Boot floppys in spades. Possible they'll fix this for Vista. After the 'put the driver disk in the A drive' bit, I told XP to continue anyway. It then loaded what looked like a bunch of SCSI and RAID drivers and then installed XP.
